    This 5 star hotel - privately owned by the Guertler family - is ideally located in the city centre, directly on the quiet bank of the Salzach River and offer magnificent views of the old town and the fortress. All rooms are equipped with individually adjustable air conditioning, highspeed Internet access, cable-TV, radio, minibar, safe and bathrobes. 116 individually furnished rooms and suites are decorated with original oil paintings, precious rugs and silk wall covering. .

    In 1998 a health club was opened with modern fitness and bodybuilding equipment, a sauna and a steam bath which can be used free of charge for hotel guests. Founded as the Oesterreichischer Hof, the Hotel Sacher Salzburg was opened on 4th June 1866 by its owner, the hotelier Karl Irresberger. In 1988 the Guertler family bought the Hotel, and the Oesterreichischer Hof became a sister hotel of the Hotel Sacher Wien. Luxurious facilities, tradition and atmosphere as well as the magnificent view of the festival city are the reasons why members of reigning families, aristocrats and members of the high clergy as well as artists were and still are guests of the hotel. With the expansion of the banqueting facilities, large social events can be held for up to 300 people. After an overall improvement of the entire hotel complex, the hotel now has 112 rooms and suites. Its wonderful location near the Salzach River was only one of the reasons why the hotel soon achieved worldwide renown. They are decorated with original paintings, antiques, precious rugs and silk wallpaper. So that guests can attend to business without having to forgo their usual office equipment, a special Business Room has been arranged with standard facilities such as computers with internet access, telephone, a fax machine, and a photocopier. As comfort has always been one of the hotel's highest priorities, the rooms have been sumptuously furnished and at the same time provided with all modern amenities such as air condition and wireless internet access. .

    All 112 rooms and suites, some of which have recently been renovated, are furnished in a highly individual fashion. Elisabeth Guertler, the hotel's owner, with a great love of details. Each room and suite has been decorated personally by Mrs. The view of the silhouette of the Old Town and the Fortress of Hohensalzburg is truly unique.     Gourmet restaurant Zirbelzimmer: The wooden panelled Zirbelzimmer with its artistically carved ceiling is unique in Salzburg and a favorite meeting place for gourmets. Cafe Sacher Salzburg: Enjoy the Original Sacher-Torte with a cup of original Sacher Cafe in a typical Austrian "coffee-house" atmosphere with an elegant touch. Restaurant Salzachgrill: The popular Salzachgrill offers specialties from the charcoal grill, to be enjoyed in a casual atmosphere. Piano Bar: The intimate Bar with live music is ideal for a drink before or after lunch or dinner. Gourmet restaurant Roter Salon: The restaurant is located on the Salzach boardwalk with a magnificent view of the spires of the Old Town. .

    Travel information

    From Salzburg Airport “W. A. Mozart”:
    Take Innsbrucker Bundesstraße and follow signs to city centre – turn left into Rudolf-Biebl-Straße - after 1 km turn right into Ignaz-Harrer-Straße and proceeded onto this street – cross the bridge over the river Salzach – turn right at the traffic lights into Schwarzstraße – follow Schwarzstrasse for about 1 km and you will find the Hotel Sacher Salzburg on your right.

    Motorway exit “Salzburg Süd”:
    Towards Anif, City centre Salzburg, carry on straight as indicated by the Zentrum signs - via Alpenstraße into Hellbrunnerstraße – turn right and cross “Nonntaler Brücke” – turn left after the bridge into Imbergstraße – carry on straight into Schwarzstraße, the Hotel is on the left side after Staatsbrücke, turn right into Makartplatz at the traffic lights – drive around the square to change into the opposite direction and drive directly up to the Hotel.

    Motorway exit “ Salzburg Mitte”:
    Coming from all other directions the Motorway exit „Mitte“ is the fastest way to the Hotel. Follow Münchner Bundesstrasse that leads into Ignaz-Harrer-Strasse and proceed about 3 km until you cross the bridge over the river Salzach – turn right at the traffic lights into Schwarzstrasse – follow Schwarzstrasse for about 1 km and you will find the Hotel Sacher Salzburg on your right.
