Originally designed in 1999, in 2001 the architects were ready and the building work started. With the precise intent of keeping the original design and charm typical of ancient mansions, the Grand Visconti Palace now offers: 172 rooms; a meeting centre; a spa with indoor swimming pool; a banquet hall; park; and garage with 70 parking spaces.
It was named after the most powerful Seigniory of the 14th-century, the Visconti, the ruling family of Italy at the time.
