The old building was once the dwelling of eminent merchant families and opened as a Hotel Ateneo in 1959. The establishment is comprised of four floors and overlooks a beautiful canal for gondolas only.

Situated on the main street of the city, which was once used by the merchants coming to trade goods, the Hotel Ateneo is poisitioned right at the city centre, just 100 meters from San Marco Square and 50 meters from La Fenice theatre. Surrounding areas/buildings of interest are the Rialto Bridge and the Accademia.
There is an enormous choice of restaurants and shops a stones throw away, and just around the corner from the Hotel Ateneo are some of the most popular trattoria for the city.
